Welcome to my blog where art is entirely magic! For those who've recognized me from before,i apologize for the inconvenience. I've embarked on a 9 month hiatus due to my internet being shut down. However,now that i'm back in full effect,i'm ready to finish where i started. For those who aren't familiar with me,let me share a little story about myself. My name is Kenzell Lewis. I reside in the heart of Compton,CA. I'm a musician (songwriter/producer/MC),poet,and businessman. As a child,i've always been drawn to entertainment or anything that presented artistic value. At one point in my life,i began taking classes at The Debbie Allen Academy when i was 7 years old and starred in one of her most famous plays called "The Chocolate Nutcracker". It was a groundbreaking experience for me though i was only in the academy for about a year and a half (just a reminder that i don't personally know Debbie Allen). There were moments where my mother took me and my other brothers for screen tests to audition for commercials. Sadly,we didn't get the parts but we still had faith and confidence in ourselves to where we still kept our heads up high despite the highs and lows. At age 10,i was drawn to music. Though i was a fan of it from day one as a toddler,around that time i became involved in it as well. For a short period of time,rapping was a hobby until i reached towards the middle of my 5th grade year and it became something serious. As far as producing goes,that didn't come unto the picture until 4 years later when i was 14 years old. Like rap,it was a hobby because i was making something called "Krump Beats" which was a form of music not necessarily to be taken seriously in terms of getting a record deal per se',but music to dance to (Example: 2pac's All Eyez On Me song sampled and remixed. Or it can be from scratch as well). At the time,it was because i was a krump dancer (a form of dance that originated here in Los Angeles. If you want more info,google/youtube it). Then about a few months later,i began to start actually making my own beats and became seriously drawn to being a beatmaker and i fell in love with it ever since. I started doing poetry around the same time. At first i was shy about it because i wasn't sure what my friends would think about that (male ego here lol) but eventually i grew out of it and have been writing ever since. Currently,i'm no longer dancing. I've been more focused on business lately because i feel as though without it,there's a huge chance that you'll never get anywhere without having any knowledge of it. This blog pertains to ANY field of entertainment! I do promote as well and need i remind you that i will NOT PROMOTE ANYONE THAT JUST GIVES ME INFORMATION ON WHO THEY ARE! I will take the time to check you out,and if i like what i hear/see,i'll inform you about it and put you on my blog. If not,well.......you just didn't make the cut.
